“Champagne Golf”  Report 10/2/22

22 players contested the Jamberoo Thursday afternoon 9 hole competition. This week it was a Team Event = 4 Person HARTBALL. Six teams (with the inclusion of Jim Robb & Kay Brennan who were heavily handicapped) tackled the ‘short course’ to complete a full card of nine holes. Players loved the chance to par the holes.

Winners: Renae Mitchell, Jenny Grey, Leesa Swan, Marianna Parish (coached by Gail Rutledge) with a score of 31.

Runners-up: Sue Harvey, Jennifer Sanders, Jim Robb, Brian Harris had a score of 35.

Team Awards: Louise Suann, Pam Maitland, Meredith Yabsley, Jenni Broadhead

Thanks again Kay, Jim, Gail, Helen, Judi and Lieve who helped out on the day.

NOTE: Next week David Sadd (Golf Professional) will be running a short putting and chipping clinic before the start of Thursday’s Team event.

Judi O’Brien, OAM

Last Friday Judi was given the honour of being presented with the OAM from Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC QC, Governor of New South Wales, at Government House in a special investiture ceremony for men and women of New South Wales whose awards were announced in the 2021 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

Judi received an OAM for her service to the community of Kiama through the Australian Red Cross and Jamberoo Golf Club.

Judi proudly wears her OAM at the club on Saturday.

Jamberoo Golf Club again congratulates Judi on her most well deserved achievement.
