Jamberoo endures stern day on the course

The news is that despite gallant performances from all teams, 3 of our 4 teams endured defeats with only the White Horse Cup Magpies successful.

White Horse Cup Cowpats at Gibraltar

Captain Col Booth reports …

The Golfing Gods were not kind to the Cowpats on Sunday.

We hit off in pouring rain which continued until the 4th hole. The highlight was Peter Francis (Three Toes) who displayed his new wet weather gear, the envy of the opposition and fellow players.

The Cowpats put up an excellent performance under the conditions but unfortunately went down 4.5 to 2.5. Gibraltar apparently play in these conditions weekly and adapted quickly.

Jacko and Maverick led the charge and it’s a pity we did not witness their performance through the mist and rain. SL ended with a half to complete our scoring in difficult conditions.

The Cowpats will need to win all remaining games to be competitive for a semi-final berth.

A good introduction to pennant golf for Martin Fogarty and Brad and a great comeback by Ken Bradley made captain Phil Gosling pleased with the day’s efforts.
