Daily Sad News

Tuesday 25 October, 11.40 am

With 60ml recorded yesterday and overnight, prospects of play are not good this week. Although the water is draining away quickly and the greens and fairways are clear of debris, the grounds are completely saturated.

The course remains closed.

A decision will be made Thursday about Sunday’s Jamberoo Mens Open but at this stage it is extremely unlikely to be held. Very sad news indeed.

Course Remains Closed

Monday October 24, 10 am

It is with regret that I inform that the course will remain closed until at least Wednesday.

The East Coast rain system will not leave the area leaving the course saturated and in threat of flooding.

Inspections are taking place daily. There is extreme doubt about the major events planned for the weekend.

Decisions will be made concerning the weekend on Thursday.

Course News

Sunday 23rd October, 5.30 pm.

I have just been informed that the course is not suitable for play Monday and will remain closed. Another inspection will occur Monday afternoon.

The Women’s Ovarian Cancer Charity Day set to be played on Tuesday has been cancelled.

News from the (wet) Course

Friday 21 October, 2022.

The course will be closed this weekend.

The course has received over 100 ml of water last night and more this morning. The River broke its banks again at about 10 am but thankfully the water level has again receded 2 metres in the last hour.

A decision will be made after an inspection on Sunday concerning Monday.

Jamberoo Mens Open

The combined Mens and Junior Jamberoo Open is scheduled for play on Sunday October 30.

The booking sheet will be available on-line from Sunday or by ringing the golf club golf shop on 42 36 0404.

At this stage it will take place as scheduled with a decision made on Thursday should there be further heavy rainfall.

Return and Earn

You are most probably aware that the Return and Earn Machine has been re-installed at the club.

Many members have requested if they could donate their refunds to the club. In a new initiative it is now possible to do this and donate to the club.

A Special Occasion

Vale John, gone but not forgotten. May your garden always be in bloom.

In honour of a good friend and servant of the club. Thank you to John’s daughters, Donna, Kylie and Jacqui and the Reverend Steve Stanis for blessing the club and the dedication of the garden to John. The garden will now be known as the Ellsmore Garden.
