It is with sorrowful tidings that I inform the members of Jamberoo Golf Club that long serving professional Jim Butt passed away last night. He was well cared for in his last days and suffered no pain.
Jim had led an interesting life as a professional golfer from his early years in Canberra to his last years at Jamberoo and Shoalhaven Heads. Always full of stories he was very well respected by all who knew him and a pleasure to converse with. He will be sadly missed by the many thousands he has helped over the years with his sage advice on the intricacies of the golf swing.
I personally feel privileged to have known him and will miss his enlightening lessons, encouraging words, friendly advice, and smile.
He will be sadly missed.
