Oaks Automotive Open Ambrose Championship.

Next Saturday the Open Ambrose Championship will be played. There is a very large field set to participate. Many thanks go to our sponsor OAKS Automotive.

Here is some relevant information.

Cost of the round will be $25 per player. Each player is to receive a ball on payment of their entry fee.

There will not be a ‘Super Shot’ on the day nor will an ‘Eagles Nest’ be held on the third. Long Drives must finish on the 14th fairway to count.

All prizes are Woolworths Vouchers, golf balls or Drummond Golf Vouchers.

Rules.

Elimination Ambrose

All players tee off each hole.

Decide as you walk to the balls which ball to play so as to keep play flowing. Select the best ball to play and mark its position. Players will play from this spot after placing their ball within one club length (10cm on Putting Green) of the selected ball (or mark).

If the position of the selected ball is in the rough, a sand bunker or a penalty area then the other players balls must be placed and played from the rough or same penalty area or sand bunker.

The golfer whose shot is taken is eliminated from participating in the next shot.

A player is only eliminated for the one shot following his/her selected shot.

This process continues up until the ball is on the putting green, and then all players have the opportunity to sink the putt.

All players tee off the next hole and the elimination process begins again, until the ball is played onto the putting green.

Each team member’s tee shot must be used at least three (3) times per round including at least once on each nine. Record whose tee shot is used on the scorecard.

The eliminated player cannot take a practice shot while eliminated.

The scorecard must be signed by the marker and one other team member.

Mixed Foursomes Championship.

The Mixed Foursomes Championships is set to be played on Sunday September 29. It is a 27 hole event, playing the front 9 first with first tee time at 7.38. In this event we play the front nine and then play the full 18 holes starting from the 1st tee again. The men have the honour for the first tee in the morning and the women in the afternoon 18.

Entry fee is $32 per couple.

If there is a tie for the gross Championship then a playoff will be held on the day, ‘sudden death’, from the first and then the 18th, repeating until a winner is determined.

A Presentation Ceremony will be held over lunch at the conclusion.

Monday Vets September Shotgun Start Day.

You are reminded that the Vets day on Monday the 30th of September is a shotgun start playing 2BBB stableford event with a BBQ and presentation at the conclusion.

Meet at the club at 7 am for the 7.30 shotgun start.

The cost of the day will be $18 which will include your sausage sandwiches.

When booking just put down your names in any spot ignoring the booking sheet times as a shotgun start draw will be made Sunday with starting hole allocations.

After the golf the Winter and Spring Vet Medals will be presented to Geoff Reid and Gary Brickell respectively. I believe a wine raffle will also be contested.

  1. Hi Dave
As this event is open, could you breakdown limits for handicaps for A,B and C grades in regards to nearest to pins and long drives as I feel that range for handicaps could be lower then current club events.
