Match Committee Report.
It has come to the attention of the Match Committee that some members are still taking preferred lies in the rough. This is certainly not the case. The ‘rough’ has not necessarily been cut short nor does it guarantee giving a perfect lie. In the rough, play it as it lies.
30cm preferred lies are only granted to the fairways of the course.
If you are in any of the few remaining flood damaged areas then you get a free drop not nearer the hole. The cleared areas under a tree are generally not flood damage.

Maybe time to get rid of “ preferred lies” altogether.. Fairways are starting to grow and it’s us members responsibility to fill in our own divots and other divots as required. As well as pitch marks on the greens. Green staff can only do so much.
