Treasurer Vacancy
Unfortunately, our Joel Young has had to resign his post as the Club’s Treasurer. I thank Joel for having volunteered to take on this role even though circumstances didn’t work out on this occasion.
Accordingly, the Board is now seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and or experienced members who may be willing to join our Board and take on the role of Treasurer. The Club’s Treasurer is responsible for managing the Club’s finances, providing monthly financial reports, liaising with and providing support to our office administrative team and shop volunteers as appropriate. As a member of the Board the Treasurer is expected to attend monthly Board meetings and contribute at these meetings.
A knowledge of MYOB finance and accounting software would be an advantage.
Should a member be interested in this challenging but rewarding role please contact Linda or Marie in the office in the first instance.
16th Retaining Wall
A contractor has been engaged for the construction of the 16th retaining wall. The actual timing of when these works might commence has not yet been determined but hopefully the final pore work approvals will be finalized soon so works can commence. The approved DA includes the raising of the eastern end of the bridge, a cart path up to the 17th tee and the dredging of the 16th and 17th dams. The works also included the removal of the garden around the 17th tee and construction of a low retaining wall so that this tee will be modified to two tiers with a forward section. Nick and crew have commenced work to remove the garden and will proceed with building the retaining wall so that it is ready to receive the silt from the dams when dredging commences.
The initial work will be installation of screw pier and trench foundations, along with construction of the cart path. This work once commenced should happen all mid week and we are hopeful that the green will be in use over the weekend following commencement of work. Once the footings are done the concrete will be left to cure and the wall work won’t start until some weeks later. We may need a temporary 16th green and forward 17th tee during the works but hopefully the disruption will be limited.
6th Bridge
We have now cleared the hurdles for works approval requirements and it is now just a matter of availability of the contractor to rectify the washed out bridge. The staged development application that is being prepared for the entirety of the Club’s property includes a replacement higher level bridge, so the existing bridge will simply be reinstated as a temporary solution. Hopefully the contractor will be available sometime soon, with reinstatement works completed in a day.
