Mixed Foursomes Champions Crowned

A beautiful Spring morning greeted our competitors in today’s Mixed Foursomes Championships.

The Mixed Foursomes is played over 27 holes in the alternate shot format and our players were not detered by the very soft conditions underfoot after last night’s rain.

Winners on the day were Liz Armstrong and Arthur Bosanquet with a very credible gross score of 133. They narrowly defeated Jenelle Anderson and Alan Jones who finished on 137. Jenelle and Alan were awarded the best nett score of 109.25.

Balls went to 124.25 nett, which just happened to include the next 5 teams.

Congratulations to all teams for entering this important club Honour Board event.

Well played to our champions.

No Carts Monday

No Carts Monday.

Heavy overnight rain has freshened up an already wet course and unfortunately we will not be able to allow motorised vehicles on Monday.

The first of the Monday raffles will still be held as will the competition.

A decision will be made on Monday about carts for Tuesday.

Temporary Local Rules from Monday

Until further notice and until we have a dry course it seems sensible to allow 30 cm preferred lies in the fairways and rough.

A ball may be cleaned when you lift it according to this rule.

Please keep Golf Carts and Motorised one-person Ride-on Buggies away from wet areas of the course and at least 5 metres from the greens when they are allowed back.

Mens Pennant Nominations 2023

The 2023 GolfNSW (Illawarra) Pennant season will be played in February and March.

We have entered teams into the B Pennant (GA handicap greater than 5.5), the C Pennant (GA handicap greater than12.5) and the White Horse Cup (max GA handicap of 24.4).

It is time to consider if you are available for any of these teams.

Please place your name, contact phone number and shirt size on the sheet in the golfshop.

We are extremely interested in any member keen to represent their club regardless of experience.

Weekend Events @ Jamberoo golf

This Saturday sees the playing of the September Monthly Medal. Don’t forget to count your putts.

Again we will use the maximum of nine on any hole. If you take advantage of this you must complete at least nine shots before stopping. Of course you won’t be able to win the putting award.

For those who dislike stroke rounds a stableford will also be held. Please inform the starter as you enter the competition.

The Mixed Foursomes Championship is scheduled to be played on Sunday 11th of September. It will be played over 27 holes and the cost will be $32 per team. A few places remain on the booking page. Elizabeth Armstrong and Arthur Bosanquet are the defending champions from 2020 with Covid causing the 2021 event to be cancelled.

There will be trophies for best gross and best nett scores.
In the event of a tie for the gross title then a sudden-death playoff over holes 1 followed by 18 will be contested until a winner is determined.
A presentation will be held at the conclusion.

A new innovation will take place for the Monday Veterans competition.

A raffle will be held with the winner collecting the jackpot.

Tickets will cost $2 each, or 3 for $5, or 7 for $10. To purchase a ticket/tickets please only use cash.
