News from the Course – 29 May

Mens Veterans Championships Postponed.

With the wet course conditions still being experienced leading to a shortened 14 hole layout, it has been decided to postpone the Men’s Veterans Championships.

This was due to be played on Monday June 20. A new date will be announced as soon as we can guarantee a full 18 hole layout.

This is similar to the Ladies Championships which have also been postponed.

The course is much improved but still very wet underfoot (just ask Dave Ransom – seen shoeless in the distance).

Saturday Results and Important Course Info

Congratulations to Arthur Bosanquet who managed a fine 33 points over the 14 hole layout on Saturday. This was good enough for Arthur to take out the daily medley competition.

Arthur Bosanquet.

David White came in second on 32, Chris Leckey on 31 came in third and Jeff Draper and Peter Francis shared the minor placings on 30. Balls went down to 25 points.

It was very wet underfoot but still 59 players braved the conditions to play. Pray for more drying weather and hopefully we can get some of our mid-week events under way.

While checking each scorecard I did notice that 5 players did not allow for the pars on the three shortened holes. This info was presented in the Daily Cow and on the noticeboard so slight adjustments were made to their stableford scores. No prize or ball award was affected.

We don’t have the capability of altering the score cards so please play the second hole as a par 3, the 12th hole as a par 4 and the 17th hole as a par 3 until further notice.

Course Open for Weekend Play

Jamberoo Golf Course will be open for play Saturday.

The 14 hole modified course will be in play.

Unfortunately no motorised carts as yet.

The Saturday morning comp will be a stableford.

Treat the second hole as a par three, the 12th hole as a par 4 and the 17th as a par 3.

Club length preferred lies on the general area of the course are still allowed.

Enjoy your day back on the course.

Ladies Championships Postponed

The Ladies Championships set down for Tuesday 14th June; Thursday 16th June; and Tuesday 21st June have been postponed in the hope that the course will be in top condition for its playing using all 18 holes.

The Mens Veterans Championship will still be played on June 20.
