Jamberoo Golf Course Open for Play

The good news is that the course remains open for play this weekend.

Unfortunately motorised ride-on vehicles cannot be used due to the soft conditions underneath. It will be walking with pull buggies only.

Saturday’s event will be a stableford from the white tees. The Monthly Medal will be held the following Saturday.

Enjoy your long weekend and remember daylight savings commences Sunday at 2 am.

At this stage the course remains closed although as it is very wet underfoot and with surface water apparent on several holes. It is likely to be the same tomorrow.

Champion Presidential team show their class

Despite some showers the course was in fine condition for today’s President vs Captain Day.

The lack of carts reduced the number of warriors, but a very interesting and enjoyable day was had by all.

The final result was a win for the President’s team 15.5 points to 12.5 points to hold on to the trophy.

President Phil enjoying a third straight victory over Captain Dave.

In the end it was the ability of the “P” team to win those close matches that was the difference.

President Phil congratulated each member of his team for their resilience under pressure and their desire to continue their dominance in this event.

Captain Dave was present to welcome each of his players with some sage advice and a neck massage. He was proud of their valiant efforts and congratulates the ‘lucky’ Presidential team on their win and consistent play.

Best score of the day was recorded by Brad Rimmer with 38 points.

Best Captain’s team points scorer was Don Thompson also with 38 points.

The best Presidential score was by Rod Poidevin with 35 points on a countback. Rod incidentally played Brad in his match.

As promised all players who obtained a full point received a ball.

The Riding for the Disabled Charity will receive $436.70 from the generous donations by our wonderful members today.

Thank you for your support.

Upcoming Events

Saturday Competition

Unfortunately the rain has fallen quite heavily on the course today and the Greenkeeper has asked that Golf Carts and motorised vehicles not be allowed this weekend in order to protect the course.

Saturday’s event will still take place as the course is otherwise in good enough condition to sustain play.

Please bring along a donation for the chosen charity, Riding for the Disabled, which is based in Jamberoo.

A donation pot is in the golf shop for those who wish to donate via cash.

If you wish you can donate via using EFT to pay for your round and a $9 donation.

It should be a fun stableford with every pair, representing the President’s team or the Captain’s team playing off against each other. Have more points than your opponent and receive a point for your team, and win a ball in the daily ball comp.

A winner will be chosen from both teams, being the player with the best stableford score for each team.

Enjoy the day.

Monday Vets Competition

After your round on Monday come down to the new BBQ and have a sausage sanger.

You can pay at the golf shop for both a sausage and your round. Just $20. A ticket will be given to you to hand in later for your sausage sandwich.

Come along and enjoy the fellowship of Veteran’s golf.
