Course cleanup.

Larry Kent, Club Captain

The next volunteer day is tomorrow Friday 19th & all focus will be on back 9 on this day. Possibly some on front 9 as-well if time permits. A massive thanks from Nick & the board.

Still only 9 holes with preferred lies through the green. Relief maybe taken from damaged sections of greens no nearer the hole, if your ball lies on that section or if it interferes with your line of your putt [only if your ball is on the green].

Any debris that is stock piled for removal is GUR.

Local rule: all the car park & area behind the 4th green including practice putting green is OB.

Any member requiring some river rocks can pick them up along the 12th fairway. A trailer will be necessary.

Member Donations

It is great that members are donating back to the club to help out.

Please also note the largest cost of the clean-up may well be replacing the 2 flooded control panels in the pump shed on the 17th. They have been inspected today and need replacing, now awaiting a quote.

April Volunteer Working Bee

The April volunteer working bee is planned to be held this Friday where we will work on the back nine. Please meet at the clubhouse at 8 am.

Those who have played in the last few days can see the mountain of work needed to rehabilitate the course back into its former glory.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday and appreciate your help.

Toilet near the 12th tee out of action.

The floods have affected the pumping station and consequently the water supply to the toilet near the 12th tee has caused the toilet to be temporarily out of order.

Please use the toilets at the clubhouse in the meantime.

2024 Flood Damage Repair Fund (Updated version 2)

If you would like to contribute then please contact the club office who will gratefully accept your donation.

Missing seats have been located (corrections).

The missing seat that once stood near the 15th tee has been found.

Thanks to Bernie who recovered the seat at the little bridge across the Minnamurra River on the McGlinchey Farm on Swamp Road.

The chair that belongs to the 11th tee is now located in the drain behind the 7th!

The chair that stood beside the 3rd tee has returned to its home after a ‘little walk about’ down the fairway in the flood.

Our access to the OUR GOLF app ended yeaterday. If you can’t wait to check your trophy account balance then please contact the Office.

News from the Course 16 April

Col Booth on volunteering.

“I think the Old Windmill on the 8th Hole should be our de facto rain gauge as well as the Patron Saint of Volunteers (viz. St Vincent de Paul, the Patron Saint of Volunteers) given the amount of grass wrapped around it to indicate the height of the water but more importantly symbolising our gallant volunteers who come unsung, unnamed to clean up.

The silent bugle echoes throughout the Jamberoo Valley and Golfers and non-Golfers appear at the course to help and The Old Windmill, which has withstood the torrent of water and debris the storm threw at it, remains a symbol of defiance, not yielding against the odds but not reckoning the strength of the Jamberoo Spirit of Defiance and Volunteering.”

The toil of our volunteers and the gifts from our donors are cherished.

Some further Info about MiClub

Some members have made enquiries about how to check their account balances with the new system.

This module has yet to come on-line but will be accessible shortly. You will be able to find your trophy account balance and your ball account balance on your personal home page (ie: the one used to make bookings) after logging on.

In the meantime you can still check your old balance on the old OURGOLF page as before until that app is terminated.

Any amount in your account will not be lost and any new trophy and ball amounts will be added to your new account when it comes online.

When the full system becomes operational, MiMembership has the ability for transferring between accounts so members will be able to pay for subs with their account balance.

The accounts are held in MiMembership but through integration the balances are brought up at BPOS terminals for spending. So whatever the members are able to purchase at BPOS they can use these accounts.

Prize integration will go directly from the MiClub golf system and post into the member prize accounts, when it comes on-line. Once posted from the golf system the account balances will be there to use straight away.

The staff and the Board are also surprised about the partial implementation of the new program which was forced upon us by GolfNSW due to the introduction of dot.golf as their new provider of handicap services.

News from the Course

Course Open for Saturday Comp.

The good news is that the course is open for play on Saturday.

We are planning to open the front nine only while repairs are still being made to the approaches to some of the bridges on the back nine and more debris collected.

The comp will be an individual stableford playing the front nine twice. After playing the first nine holes please blend in with other groups playing their first nine.

Please do not use the MiScore app this first day and record your scores the traditional way on a scorecard. Record your second nine scores against the appropriate back nine hole ignoring the par and hole index. Perhaps just record the stroke score only and the match committee will put in the correct stableford points?

Nearest the pins will be contested on the 3rd, 7th and 9th holes. There will not be any drive and pitch on the day.

30cm preferred lies can be taken in the General Areas of the course (fairways and rough) and carts are allowed.

Members are asked to be mindful of the wet areas while using a cart.

Stacked flood debris can be treated as GUR and if the damaged area of the first green interferes with your line of putt then free relief no nearer the hole is permissible. All bunkers are GUR.

Great thanks goes to the dedicated volunteers and our greenstaff for getting the course ready for play after the greatest flood ever experienced at the course.
