Congratulations to Rod Hodkinson and Daryl Campbell on the terrific job that they have done around the shop making repairs and refurbishing cupboards following our recent security issues. A pair of dedicated members.

2017 Pennant Season

Jamberoo has entered teams into the B Pennant, C Pennant and White Horse Cup (2 teams) competitions for the upcoming 2017 season.

At this early stage we are interested in calling for nominations for team captains and managers.

Please nominate in writing to the golf office highlighting your experience and willingness to take on these very important positions. If last year’s captains wish to re-stand then please contact the office as well. Address your nomination to the Captain.

Last Week’s Results

A marvelous week of golf was had by all with many members coming out of winter hibernation to play their first round in spring. Well done to Jenelle Anderson who on Saturday scooped the pool winning the Ladies comp, the Ladies drive and pitch and finally the Super Shot, beating all 99 men as well, and, can somebody explain to Daniel Smith that it was extremely windy on Saturday? What a great round! Well played, we all hope you enjoy your new (lower) handicap!

Some interesting happenings this week as well.

Firstly, Ladies beware. There appears to be a crow on the course near the 18th green taking balls. Just ask Kay Brennan who lost her titleist on the 18th green. A later investigation found that a certain gentleman who has won several championships and plays off a plus handicap may in fact have been the culprit. A crow with a blue shirt!

Welcome back to Pete Munro after his recent hernia operation. Reports are that he is still swinging it smooth. John Childs also sent out a warning for those walking across bridges. On the 1oth on Wednesday his tee shot landed short of the bridge ran straight over it and finished perfect on the other side. The golfers coming down 18, who were on the bridge at the time, couldn’t believe what had happened as the ball passed them all without hitting anybody.

As you might recall Steve Rippon has now moved to a +5 handicap which at our course means he has to give back five shots to play to his handicap. In a stableford they are all on the front nine. Imagine that, 5 under par on the front nine to play to your handicap! Ray Orr has found out that Steve’s handicap is the 3rd lowest in NSW and in the top 10 in Australia. Imagine what he could do after he has his hernia operated on.

Finally we wish those of our members who are unwell at the moment a quick recovery and a rapid return to the course.

Well played to all our winners this week.

  1. Trying to work out where that photo was taken. Is it our course.
Thanks Darryl and Rod—-you both always have great solutions and contribute to our club.

  2. A very ‘old’ picture of Daryl before the changes were made to the golf shop.
Notice the fence behind the first tee.
    Daryl looks younger today!
