AUSTRALIAN OPEN FOOTGOLF: The worst kept secret is official.
An agreement has just been signed between JGC and FootGolf Australia (FGA). FGA are hiring our course for the event. 9 extra holes are being provided by FGA for the event. These will have covers on them.
This is a great coup for JGC. Although still in the 6 months trial period the Board of Directors felt we could not miss the opportunity of putting in a bid for this event.
The Event is being strongly supported by Kiama Tourism and Kiama Council. The Australian Open will bring a grand profile of our club to the general public. There are many benefits to members including assisting us to keep our fees to the lowest in the area, promotion of our course through televised and written media.
The Inaugral Australian Open FootGolf will be held May 26-29. This involves a Saturday. Members will be informed in the first week of May, whether Saturday Competition will be held on the 28th of May. Depending on the number of FootGolf entries you might want to play elsewhere on that day if you wish.
Everyone is welcome to come and watch on any day. There will be food coffee/tee drinks available. The players are the best Footgolfers from all of Australia. Their soccer skills are fantastic. It is anticipated to have some International Players. Marshalls are needed –so when the list goes out asking for volunteers!!!
