Mens Foursomes Championships 2014
THE field size might have been down, and the Bathurst races on, but the quality was certainly present and the golf played was outstanding and tense.
Congratulations go to Matthew and Adrian Bell who fired an impressive score of 112 to win the Men’s Foursomes Championships by 1 shot from Tom Persson and Tony Panecasio.
After both teams played the first eighteen holes in 75 it was decided on the 26th hole of the championship at the 17th where the winning team managed to get up and down to pull one shot clear of their rivals and with both teams scoring a bogie on the 18th the championship was decided.
In consolation Tom and Tony were awarded the best nett prize defeating the gallant team of Arthur Bosanquet and Wayne Arnott by ¼ of a shot nett, 98 to 98.25.
Balls went to 107.25 which included the Ray Orr – Pete Munro combo who tried hard all day to overcome a poor start. For a while they were the leaders in the clubhouse. Unfortunately for them their playing partners score had to be written on the board as well.
Tim Young and Shane Townsend picked up the B Grade Gross with 147, failing to reproduce their Saturday form. As there was only one B grade pair they had to be awarded the Bradman prize instead! The Rippon – Paris team tried hard to defend their title but failed to fire this year.
Congratulations to our new champions and well played to all of our competitors. A great club day for all.
2014 Gold Medal Playoff
EACH November the winner of each monthly medal in their grades play off for the Gold Medal. This prestigious award is highly sought after and is presented to the winners at Presentation Night in early December.
Please see the attached list to find out if you are in the field.
David Ransom
I notice that greedy bugger Andrew Craddock has 2 spots, can I have one of them please?
Yes it only seems fair, but alas, you will have to win this one to qualify for next year. Some Intriguing results are possible. Andrew Ball has the unique chance to win two gold medals with one excellent round! And who will win the father and son clash between Steve and Brad Jackson?
Good luck to all the qualifiers.
