EFFORTS to infuse the golfing spirit in Jamberoo Primary School students have culminated in a Gala Day Ambrose event at Jamberoo Golf Club.

Twenty one students from the school have been participating in golf coaching each Friday during the 4th term. Coaching sessions started at school, progressed to Jamberoo sporting ovals and concluded on Friday Dec 6th with the Gala Day at Jamberoo Golf Course.

The coaching programme was initiated by teacher Mrs Justine McCormack, who has attended a Jack Newton Junior Golf Coaching Course, and was conducted by Mrs McCormack, Jamberoo Golf Pro Jim Butt, Jamberoo Junior Promotions Representative Phil Lewis, parent Linda McGlinchey and Club Directors Sue Paul, Rose Sheath and captain Dave Ransom.

Prizes were donated through the Jack Newton Golf Foundation and the students and adults enjoyed a sausage sizzle at the conclusion of golf. It was great to see that some parents were able to attend. The enthusiastic students improved their golfing skills over the term and hopefully many will consider golf as one of their sports in the future.
