Veterans News – 14th October.

Round 6 of the Trevor Bell Memorial Shield competition was held at The Grange today. Jamberoo dominated the day taking out first, second and fourth prizes in the individual competition. The team score (best six of eight scores) equalled the third best team score of the season – 216 points. We also hold the best team score of the season, 222 points, scored at Port Kembla in August.

Jamberoo now leads the season team point score with 1181 points, 5 points ahead of The Links, Shell Cove. Port Kembla is third, 42 points behind The Links. The Shield winner will be determined at the final round at Wollongong on Monday 4 November.

The team score of 216 gives an average of 36 points per player for the six counting scores. This is exceptional for the team to have achieved this twice in the season.

Individual performances  today were:

Ron Chilby                  40 points          Winner

Craig Foster                40 points          2nd place

Ken Holt                     38 points          4th place

Congratulations again to the team and may they get some handicap back by November.
