2024 Jamberoo Mens Open
The weather threw a curve ball at the club once again with mid-morning rain testing the mettle of our players. Players who hit off later were blessed with ideal conditions.
In the end 86 players fronted the starter. Impressive scores were returned by Marc Leggett from the Grange with a 72, Mark Johnston from Shoalhaven Heads with a 71, Dylan Humphries from the Grange with a 70 and Tom Holz from the Links Shell Cove also with a 70. None could match defending champion Colin Mitchell from the Links Shell Cove who fired a one over par 68 in the morning drizzle.
In the nett section, good scores were recorded in A grade by Lachlan Young with a 65 off his 9 handicap, Craig Foster also 65 off 10, Alex Hemmings 66 off 10 and Lee Hayward 66 off 10. In B Grade Rod Poidevin shot 65 off 17 and John Anthony shot 67 off 14. In C Grade Alex Leroy off 36, Bill Morris off 22 and Peter Hackett off 22 all shot nett 67. Elijah Crowe off 25 fired 66 as did Col Booth off 22. None were better than popular winner Geoff Reynolds who outclassed all comers with a nett 62 off his 20 handicap.
Along with these great scores there were disasters! None worse than an 18 recorded on the 18th by yours truly!
