2 Person AMBROSE COMPETITION this Saturday.
This Saturday a 2 person Ambrose is to be contested.
The rules are printed below. It is preferred that all groups should consist of 4 players. Any single players, however, will play a stableford.
Handicap: 1/4 combined handicaps (Show individual handicaps on card)
Both players are to tee off on all holes and play all shots.
Select the best ball to play and mark its position.
Decide as you walk to the balls which ball to play so as to keep play flowing. Both players will play from this spot.
Both players place their ball within 30cm (5cm on Putting Green) of the selected ball (or mark) and play their next shot. If the position of the selected ball is in the rough or a hazard then balls must be placed and played from the rough or hazard. This process continues until the team has completed the hole.
SIX tee shots from each team member must be used and shown on the scorecard.
The scorecard must be signed by the marker whilst the other team member signs as player.

30 cm preferred lies are granted for any ball on a fairway of the course. (13/8/24)

Apparently Geoff won the comp with 40 points. Couldn’t have been that crooked!
B9 – blokes, beers and banter!
B9 is usually held on the third Thursday of every month. This means that the next game will be on the 15th of August from 2pm.

Can someone please put a sheet up with course conditions as per preferred lies etc as today (vets) there was nothing. I know what was said in the cow . There was people today playing preferred lies general areas, some playing fairway only and groups playing as it lies. Visitors do not have the Daily cow as they read the board out the front of the starters shed.

Completely agree with you Craig. In fairness this would be the first day that such a sheet was missing. What happened to the sheets on the noticeboard? Sabotage?
I know the starter was informed on the Sunday but the message obviously didn’t get across.
