President’s Report Amendment

It has been drawn to my attention that the wording in my annual report “that the 4th hole area leased from Club Jamberoo will not be available to us beyond 30 September 2025” might be read to imply that Club Jamberoo is not willing to lease the land to JGC beyond that date.

This is in fact not the case as the current lease includes an option to extend the lease for a further 10 years. In addition we acknowledge that Club Jamberoo has recently made an offer to Jamberoo Golf Club of a new “10+10” year lease to begin after expiry of the current lease.

However, at this point the Boards of Jamberoo Golf Club and Club Jamberoo have not been able to agree on lease terms that are suitable to both parties. Consequently Jamberoo Golf Club is continuing its planning on the basis that the land currently leased from Club Jamberoo will not form part of the future Jamberoo Golf Club precinct.

Jamberoo Stableford Salver

This Saturday sees the playing of the 5th annual “Jamberoo Golf Club Stableford Salver”. It is an event intended for all players who are out of contention for the Championships and for those who missed a round for any reason. Our Saturday Women golfers will also be playing this year. The cost of entry is $20 which is slightly more than the usual entry fee in our comps of $16. This is so that larger prizes can be awarded on the day and for engraving of the Salver and for a trophy for the winner to be awarded on Presentation Day.

Here is the list of previous winners:

2019 – Bill Hudson

2020 – Tim Condon

2021 – Mark Fisher

2022 – John Hol

2023 – ?

Retiring Captain Dave Ransom has supplied the Salver to be used as a permanent trophy that will be engraved with the winner’s name.

3RD AND 4TH ROUNDS of the Championship.

For those still involved in the Championship the third round will be played on Saturday and it will conclude on Sunday.

The top 4 gross leaders in each grade will be seeded for round 4 with A grade hitting off at 8 am, followed by the B grade at 8.10 and C grade at 8.20.

You will be notified Saturday night if you are among these seedings. Alternatively you can check the online booking page, OURGOLF.

There are prizes in each grade for Club Champion and runner up gross and also for Best Nett and runner up in each grade. As you cannot win a Nett title after claiming a gross title many opportunities are available for those not in the seeded section. In fact it would not surprise if a player outside of the top four after round 3 makes a last round charge up the leaderboard to contest for a prize.

It has happened regularly in the past!

Good luck to all.
