News from the Course – May 28

Captain’s team triumphant.

The battle for bragging rights for the next year was desperately close with the defending champions, the President’s team, taking an early 6 point lead in the annual contest between the President’s and Captain’s teams. As the afternoon developed a late charge saw the Captain’s team come from behind to win the contest 27.5 points to 25.5 points and regain the title after 3 long years of suffering.

What is more important was that $450 was raised for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Thanks to all players for their support of this worthy cause.

4 players from yesterday’s round have won selection to represent Jamberoo Golf Club in the “Premier’s Challenge, to be played at Castle Hill Golf Club in an Ambrose event later in the year, all expenses paid.

Congratulations to Lance Fredericks, Peter Wheatley, Brian Aboozaid and Lauie Fogarty.

Details will be communicated as they come to hand.

Bob at it again!

Bob Neilson continued his recent excellent shotmaking skills with another ‘Super shot’ win yesterday on the 13th. A superb shot to 76 cm to the very difficult back right flag position left Bob with the Jackpot again for the 4th time in a fortnight. Rumours are that Bob is thinking about opening a ‘money lending’ service to the rest of the impoverished membership!
