News from the Course

President vs Captain Charity Day – Saturday May 27.

The Annual President vs Captain Medal Matchplay Day will be held this Saturday.

Cost of the comp will be $20 for members and $29 for visitors. $4 of this will be donated to the designated charity, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on your behalf.

Each player will be allocated to either the Presidential team or to the Captain’s team and this will be marked on your scorecard as P or C.

The rules are simple, P1 vs C1 and P2 v C2 in each group. The winner of each match is the player with the highest number of stableford points at the conclusion of the round.

Please mark on top of your card how many points you received:

1 point for a win

0.5 points for a draw

and 0 points for a loss.

We will tally all the points and the winning team will be the team with the most overall points.

[If you are in a group of 3, don’t worry. We will match you up with another player at the end].

The Presidential team is the defending champion and have bragging rights at the moment.

First prize will go to the overall winner, and prizes will go to the first, second and third in each team.

It is expected that players may remind their opponent the distance to water hazards, the proximity of out of bounds and the tricky nature of that short putt. The loser of each match should, as always, buy the first round to thank their opponent on a well-played, although lucky, game.

Enter your individual scores as normal before placing them in the box.

JDRF Australia (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) supports the 127, 000 Australian’s who live with type one diabetes. JDRF’s mission is to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes.

Type one diabetes is a chronic auto-immune disease. Life with type one diabetes is a constant juggling act and JDRF’s vision is a world without type 1 diabetes.

Enjoy the day and thanks for your support.

Monday 29th – Veterans 2 person Ambrose Day

My apologies but because of the late notice it will not be possible to run a shotgun start for this day. Please play at your booked tee time. There will still be a free sausage sandwich available at the conclusion of your round.

Jamberoo Vet Members – $10, including sausage sandwich after the game and a chance to win a bottle of wine.

2 – Person Ambrose Competition Rules – par 67

Handicap: 1/4 combined handicaps. Female players attract an extra 4 shots to their handicap which is calculated from the Blue Course.

  1. Both players are to tee off on all holes and play all shots.
  2. A minimum of 6 tee shots shall be selected for each player and marked on the score card.
  3. Select the best ball to play and mark its position. Decide as you walk to the balls which ball to play so as to keep play flowing. Both players will play from this spot. Both players place their ball within one club length (10cm on Putting Green) of the selected ball (or mark) and play their next shot.
  4. If the position of the selected ball is in the rough, a sand bunker or a penalty area then the other players balls must be placed and played from the rough or same penalty area or sand bunker.
  5. This process continues until the team has completed the hole.
  6. Single players are to play stableford and act as scorer for the other team. No groups of only 1 pair can participate. A separate marker is required. They both can play stableford.
