News from the Course – May 7

Upcoming Events

Many important events are coming up in the next few months and it may be appropriate to place them in your diary so that you won’t miss out on playing.

  1. The 27th of May will see the annual playing of the President vs Captain stableford matchplay. The cost of the day will be $20 with the extra $4 going to charity. Each player is allocated to the Presidential team or the Captain’s team and will play an opponent in their match. The player with the greater stableford score scores 1 point for their team or 1/2 point if it is all square.
  2. On May 29th the Monday Veterans will play a shotgun start for a $10 entry fee with a free BBQ and raffle at the end. Meet at the club at 7.30 for an 8 am hitoff.
  3. The Women’s Championship will be contested over 3 rounds commencing June 13, then June 15 and finishing on June 20th.
  4. Advanced notice for the Mens Championship to held over two weekends in August. Dates are 5th, 6th, 12th and ending on the 13th.

A Convocation of Eagles descended on the Course on Saturday

Congratulations to Bob Neilson and Peter Hackett for their respective eagles on Saturday. Bob scored his on the fifth hole and Peter on the eighth.

Well played to you both!

Bob’s follows his trifecta of ‘super shots’ last week. Bob is certainly on fire at the moment.

Both receive a gift of 3 balls from the club for their achievement.

New Poles

Club handyman, starter and allround good guy, Rod Hodkinson, and his mate have redesigned these football retrievers to help those unfortuante to kick their football in the water.

He is currently planning to develop one for lost golfballs!

Footgolf is still an important money raiser for the club and we thank Rod and his mate for the time and effort to help out.

2023-24 Membership invoices

The 2023-24 Membership Invoices are available in the boxes in the golf shop for members to pick up.

The new membership year starts on the 1st of June. The fees have been set for $680, a modest increase given the high inflation rate.

If you wish to pay monthly then this needs to be setup now so that you don’t miss out on any golf. Please see the Office for the application forms.
