Bad Tidings about the Course yet Again

The river has broken its banks again – 12th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th are completely underwater plus 14th and 17th greens. Sorry to share this news. Will the weather ever give us a break?

Meanwhile, here is some more pleasant news ……

Garden Dedication to John Ellsmore and Blessing of the Course

In recognition of the years of devotion to the gardens and surrounds of Jamberoo Golf Club the 6th tee garden is to be dedicated to John Ellsmore. John will be honoured with a plinth and plaque inscribed with the words, “The John Ellsmore Memorial Garden”. This garden was the pride and joy of John who spent many hours pruning and caring for this beautiful place.

The beautiful garden will be dedicated to John at 2.30 pm on October 20.

At the same ceremony Rev Steve Stanis of Kiama Anglican Church will bless the course.

New Additions to the Gardens on the Course

A special thanks to Cheryl Smee for her generous donation of plants. They will fill the first tee gardens beautifully.

Volunteers with Green Thumbs

Many of your club mates help out by maintaining the various gardens about the course.

Can you help?

Pam Middlebrook would be delighted to have your assistance. Let her know if you are available.

Help Needed for Junior Clinics

Volunteers are needed to help with junior clinics that are successfully run at the course. You don’t have to be a champion golfer, just willing to help out with the young participants. A great way to get involved with the club and meet other like-minded club members. Please contact the club if you are interested.

Jim’s Shed to be Demolished

It is unfortunate that the old shed on the first, known affectionately as “Jim’s Shed” has to be demolished shortly. It is riddled with termites and is unsafe. We also found while inspecting the old shed that it is also full of asbestos which will need careful removal.

Jim’s Shed named in honour of long-time professional, Jim Butt.

Hopefully a new structure can be put up in its place in the near future.
