The Mixed Open is a unique mixed event in the Illawarra being a Canadian Foursomes. Having been first contested in 1983 today’s event continues that fine tradition. Thank you to all the players who took part.
Jamberoo Golf Club welcomed visitors from Port Kembla, Kiama, Russell Vale, Shoalhaven Heads, and the Links Shell Cove. We hope you enjoyed your day on the course despite the wet underfoot conditions. It was a perfect day, from the ankles up!
Competitors were welcomed to a perfectly azure sky without the hindrance of any wind. The course was playing as difficult as it could get with little run on the fairways. Holes 5 and 9 were out of play and were replaced by a replaying of holes 1 and 4.
It is true it was very wet under foot in places and we appreciate the resolve of all competitors to allow this important event to run.
The Mixed Open winners today were Elizabeth Armstrong and Arthur Bosanquet with a fantastic round of 82.
The nett winners were Gordon and Kerrie Bickle from the Links Shell Cove with a nett score of 74.375.
Ball winners were Jenelle Anderson & Del Crockford (78), Loretta & Phil Green (78.375), and Kay Brennan & Bruce Byers (79.875).
