President Welcomes New Head Green Keeper

Nicholas (Nick) Goodger

Nick Goodger

I have great pleasure in announcing that Nick Goodger has been appointed as the Club’s new Head Green Keeper.  Nick will commence duties on Monday 3rd June 2019.

Nick already lives locally and has more than 25 years of green keeping experience. He has been recruited from Port Kembla Golf Club where he was second in charge.  Nick has previously been Course Superintendent at Callala Golf and Country Club and brings a diverse range of experience and skills to lead our greens staff in the maintenance, management and further enhancement of our picturesque and challenging course.

I also take this opportunity to express the appreciation of the Board and our members to Cody McParland who has done a wonderful job as acting Head Green Keeper over the past 6 months.  While we still have a long way to go with the recovery of our greens, the dramatic improvement in both the greens and the course in general over the past few months is a tribute to the skills and combined efforts of our small grounds staff team.

End of Financial Year at your Golf Shop

The rush is on to spend your ball credits on golf equipment and apparel before the end of the financial year. Today the Captain was spotted buying two golf shirts, with no ladies or gents polo shirts valued at more than $40 who can blame him.

It is a great time to get yourself a bargain and use up those ball credits before they all disappear!

This week only.
