The Road to Ebullience

Image result for Kiama to Jamberoo road

I had the pleasure of driving to our course today taking the Jamberoo Road from Kiama.

What a great journey.

The expectation rises as you leave the township of Kiama and then progress into the hills. On both sides of the road farms overlook as the traveler winds along the serpentine route through the hillsides, and then onto the flat lands where farmhouses are shaded by large trees and sheltered by hedges. The grass has been cut, the cows are grazing, the fields are deliciously fresh and verdurous. Up the straight around one more bend and into Jamberoo you arrive, a glimpse of the course is your reward. Then the last turn into the carpark and you have arrived, ready and willing to enjoy another round of golf on our beautiful course with your equally enthused mates.

We are so lucky to play at Jamberoo.

Payment Options for the 2019-20 Membership Year.

On the 31st of May the old golfing financial year ends.

From the 1st of June members have 1 month to renew their membership. The Fees for the new year have been set at $570 which includes compulsory GolfNSW, Golf Illawarra capitation charges, GST and insurance. The Board has limited the rise to 5% and Jamberoo remains the best valued membership in the Illawarra.

There are two ways for members to make payment. Firstly, members may pay the full amount upfront before the 30th of June using cash, credit card, debit card or direct debit. Members may use the balance of their trophy account to reduce the upfront cost. For example, If you have a balance of $165 in your account then you need to pay only $405. The balance of your ball account can’t be used for this purpose.

The second way of paying for your membership is to take advantage of the new monthly payment plan and spread the cost over the full year by using direct debit from your bank account or credit card. Each of the 12 payments are $51.  Unfortunately members cannot use the balance of their trophy account with this method as it is handled by a third party although administrated by our club.

Application forms are available at the golf office.

Ball Credits

Many of us have several balls in our ball accounts. Each of these has been given a nominal value of $2.50 in the records. On the OUR GOLF web page it is combined with the amount in your trophy account. If you have lost track of how many you have then ask at the Golf Shop as they have access to all details of your accounts. Obviously ask at a quiet time and not just before your competition round.

Golf balls cannot be used to pay your annual fees but can be redeemed in the shop for all your golfing equipment needs including balls, golf clothing, bags, gloves, shoes, etc. They can also be used to pay for food purchased in the shop and for the hire of carts [eg 5 balls= 1/2 share of cart for 18 holes] so there are a multitude of ways you can use your ball credits.

From June 30 the club will no longer keep balls in your account for more than 3 months. Don’t let them go for naught – use them now.
