Quite a few members are a little worried about entering their scores into the computer following their round. This is especially the case for ‘in conjunction’ events.

To provide support to members the Club Captain will be available to assist members enter their scores into the computer after their round this week. Once you get used to the method hopefully you will find the process quite easy.

This Week’s Results

All of our competitions were met by great weather during the week and the scores reflected this condition.

On Sunday under fine blue skies and wispy clouds the 2019 Foursomes Championship was contested. Several very strong teams had gotten together and close results were expected and so it turned out with only a handful of shots separating the teams after the 27 holes. In the end the defending champions Marie Farrant and Pat Paris were the champions for the second year running and for three out of the last 4 years. Well played Marie and Pat, deserved champions.

The Ladies Canadian Foursomes on Tuesday saw Judy Casey and Robyn Gregson get the honours with a good score of 74, 5/8 of a shot more than the runners up Pam Middlebrook and Judi O’Brien.

Wednesday saw the playing of the Drummond Golf Stableford and the winner of the Drummond voucher was Geoff King with 41 points. Well done Geoff. A grade winner was Alan Jones with 38, B grade winner was regular visitor Bruce Michie with 40 points with John Pringle a close 2nd, C Grade winner was Ron Chilby with 36 points  one in front of a host of other players the closest being Norbert Beringer, and Geoff took out D grade.

Thursday was Ladies Veterans day and the irrepressible Shirley Walsh came home with 22 points on the back nine to win the day.

Saturday Monthly medalists were: Con Kiayias with 66 in A grade; Daryl Campbell, in a continuation of his good form, with a fine 64 in B grade on a countback from the unlucky Steve Oppert who lost his ball on 18 and then lost the countback; Pete Wheatley did well to win C grade with a 65 one better than Ian Martens, and Reece Martens winning his first medal in D grade with a 69. Louise Stoddart won the Ladies Saturday comp.

Last Saturday following advice from Golf NSW all scores of 42 points or more in the fourball were considered for handicapping. This is a compulsory thing to do and is not optional. There is a formula that is applied to determine how many points each player scored. The first criteria is that a player’s score must appear on the card at least 9 times. When these scores were sent to Golflink handicaps were adjusted and congratulations go to those players on fine rounds of golf. It appears Golflink put a red line around your score which normally says that you were disqualified. This was not the case. I am finding out from golflink why this occurred.
