Mixed Foursomes Championship

Well played to Marie Farrant and Pat Paris on winning the Mixed Foursomes Championship which was played today. This is their second successive win and their third in the last 4 years.

It was very close this year with 6 teams in with a very good chance of winning with nine holes to play. In the end Marie and Pat managed to beat Liz Armstrong and Arthur Bosanquet by the one shot, Jenelle Armstrong and George Vlatko by 2 and Linda McGlinchey and Steve Rippon by 3.

As you can see it was very close and as Pat explained a little luck on the sixteenth where a ball stayed out of the penalty area by a few feet was the ultimate difference. Also a great chip from Marie on the 18th to inches from the hole ensured the final victory. A great display by the defending champions.

The nett winners were Liz and Arthur with 104.5 who can take some solace from their near miss with the gross.

A lovely sausage and salad luncheon was enjoyed by the players post game and many thanks go to those ladies who took the time to prepare and cook the meal. It was most appreciated by all.

Congratulations to all of our competitors who enjoyed a lovely day out on the course in near perfect conditions
