As 2017 draws to a close we look back at some of the highlights of the year.
Mens Pennants – All four teams qualify for the semi-finals, a first for the club. This includes the two White Horse Cup teams playing each other in a semi-final for the second year running. In a remarkably similar result the match is tied after regulation play and the two number ones continue with a playoff. The ‘Cowpats’ do it again defeating the ‘Flies’ on the 4th playoff hole to progress.

It is another first for the club to have our club represented in all three finals of the competitions that we entered. Our teams fall at the final hurdle and we lose all three finals in very close tussles, several matches being decided on the final green.

The ‘Cowpats’ were seeking to make it three pennants in a row and were all square in their match after regulation play with both the number 1 and 2 players required for the playoff. Unfortunately both lose and the ‘three-peat’ dream evaporates like the sea mist at Shoalhaven Heads where the final was played.
The Ladies Pennant teams also play hard and perform well narrowly missing out in both grades.
February and March see very bad weather strike the course with the ‘East-Coast Low’ dumping megalitres of water onto the course severely curtailing golfing activities.
Jamberoo Ladies and Mens Opens – Both events continue to attract quality fields and this year Narelle Moon from the Federal Golf Club in Canberra and Colin Mitchell from the Links Shell Cove win the titles.
Lieve Stassen and Ray Orr are the respective nett winners.
