Finals Day in the Matchplay

A prodigious crowd is expected at the Australian Golf Club for the final round of the Australian Open this Sunday. At Jamberoo an equally enthusiastic gallery is expected as well for the playing of the 2017 Club Matchplay finals.

In the team event it is a battle between the ‘A’ grade teams when Tony Panacasio and Scott Hainsworth vie against Arthur Bosanquet and Wayne Arnott. This looks to be a very close contest between two well balanced teams who have been battle hardened with several tight matches in the lead up to the final.

In the Singles Ron Hewson will battle Ken Bradley. Both have played exceptional golf in the lead up rounds and it will be a case of Ken’s long hitting vs Ron’s tight approach game. It should be a match well worth watching.

Play well to all.

Play as it lies

In further news from the course the match committee has decided to end preferred lies from Saturday 2nd of December. The course will revert to ‘play the ball as it lies’. As a proviso any bare patches on fairways can be treated as GUR with a free drop of 1 club length not nearer the hole allowed.

Please don’t forget to fill in any divot holes you make or see.

Gold Medal Day

The postponed November monthly medal and Gold Medal playoff will be held this Saturday, 25th of November. Check the list outside the golf shop to see if you are in with a chance to win the 2017 Gold medal. The winners of the November monthly medal qualify for the 2018 playoffs.
