Jamberoo Vets V’s Kiama Vets

Monday 20th May 2013 saw Kiama Men & Lady Vets visit for our INTER-CLUB COMP.
25 Men & 8 Ladies competed.

Results were;
MEN. 1st Dale Atkins, Jamberoo, 41 Pts c/b
2nd Theo Schmeider, Jamberoo, 41 pts
3rd Barrie Bampton, Kiama, 38 pts.

LADIES. 1st Lyn Kuskey, Jamberoo, 39 pts.

Balls went, 35 for Men & 31 for Ladies.

Best 10 totals; Jamberoo; 364, Kiama; 334. Second leg to be played at Kiama in July.

Bowling Club Bar and Bistro were working and there many comments on the Excellent
Food served by the Bistro.

Greenstaff Coring Greens caused some early concern, however the Verti-Drainer
Does such a good job, that I’m not aware of any complaints.

2013 Vet’s Championship Results

Vets 2013 Championship Results

Monday the 6th May, saw a field of 89 players greet the starter (27 Visitors) overall numbers being down a little, as stroke is not everyone’s preferred game.

We thank all the visitors for their participation, even though they are not eligible for the championships, they had the chance to win Vouchers.

However a good day was had by all in lovely conditions.

Overall Champion with a Gross Score of 81 was Lew Dare, congrats to Lew.

Nett Winner was Lance Fredericks (63) c/b, whilst Eric Nyholm won the least number of putts (27) c/b.

Vet’s Update

Vet’s News

Thursday, 18th April saw the begining of our Vets Interclub Comps.

21 Jamberoo Vets played host to 14 golfers from Nowra & 1 from Gibralter.

The weather stayed fine untill the second last hole of the shotgun start event, when it started to rain.
With only 36 starters (quite a few dropping out on the morning) we had just the one grade.

1st place went to Nowra’s Kevin Longford with 39 points.
2nd place was James Oldman from Gibralter with 38 points on a c/back from our Richard Hoskins.
The Nearest the Pin and the Drive & Pitch went to Nowra’s D.Goodman & Peter Done respectively.

We once again have talked about a Trophy for this Competition, as we have with Saint George’s Basin & Mollymook, so watch this space.

Monday,13th May we are to travel by car to Mollymook.
Barry Walker & Ian Boles will be away at this time so Neville Hutchins will
be organising the details.

Vet’s Trevor Bell Shield 2013

On top of our great performance in last year’s Trevor Bell Shield , the boys will be looking to do one better this year,  last year we finished a creditable 2nd behind Pt Kembla.
