2012 Jamberoo Junior Open attracts a diverse field

EIGHTEEN young golfers tested their skills on the tight Jamberoo Golf Club layout at the 2012 Jamberoo Junior Open, sponsored by John Hufton of the Illawarra Golf Complex, on Thursday September 27.

Players from as far afield as Port Macquarie, Mollymook, Moss Vale and Liverpool competed in the Stableford format against local golfers, with handicaps ranging from one to the mid thirties.

Brock Speechley, representing the Kareela Golf Club, blitzed the field with an excellent 44 points. Ethan deLeeuw, Moss Vale was the runner up on 37 points from Cody Wehmeyer, Callala, on 35 points.

Eight budding golfers competed in the 9 hole competition with Selena Bosevski, Port Kembla, scoring 34 on the modified Callaway system, from Clayton deLeeuw, Moss Vale, on 35 and Laura McCombe, Jamberoo, on 36.

Players from Russell Vale, Moss Vale, The Grange, Mollymook, Jamberoo, Kareela, Port Macquarie, Port Kembla, St. Georges Basin and Liverpool took part in the event.
