Hole in one

Congratulations go to Vince Brynes for his achievement of a hole in one on the 11th today. Vince’s well struck 5 iron landed on the front of the green and rolled out to go into the hole for his ace.

Vince, being of short stature, didn’t quite see the ball go in and was looking over the green to find his ball when one of his partners suggested he look in the hole. To Vince’s great delight there it was!

Congratulations Vince on your perfect shot and as a memento the club will mount the ball and give you a special prize of 6 golf balls.

Pitch Marks on Greens

Unfortunately I was disappointed today with the number of unrepaired pitch marks I found on the greens. Hitting off in a late group I personally repaired at least 6 of these on each green.

Please find your pitch mark and repair it. With the soft greens at the moment even chips are leaving indentations so look for these as well.

  1. In todays event balls went down to 92 points. The winner of the three person event had 82points. Please explain. Are teams of three being disadvantaged?

  2. Happy new year Tony.
The 3 person event was a separate competition with less entries than the 4 person event. Clearly it would not have been fair to play each against each other in the same comp. Therefore balls and prizes were allocated proportionally for each division. I hope this clears up the matter for you
