Matchplay Update
The Matt Tedeschi , Con Kiayias team has progressed to the final of the fourball Matchplay with their defeat of Paul Rodgers and Ron Hewson 1 up today. They will play Peter Francis and Tony McRae in the final.
Tony Panecasio has defeated Tim Young 1 up, while Johnny Bermudez has won his semi against John Paul 5/3 in the single Matchplay championship.
Both finals will be played shortly.
Pennant team Selectors
Any member wishing to stand as a selector for the upcoming 2017 Pennant season should contact Dave Ransom through the golf office.
Nominations for pennant players will soon be called for so keep your eye on the notice board.

Latest Results
Another beautiful week of perfect golfing weather saw our competitions draw great support from the members. We also were pleased to welcome many visitors to our course especially those from our reciprocal club Shoalhaven Heads. We hope you enjoyed your game at Jamberoo.
The Ladies played a 4 ball best ball stroke round on Tuesday and the scoring was fantastic. Winners were Shirley Walsh and Kay Brennan with 61 nett defeating Dell Brand and Lieve Stassen by 1, and Dulcie Piper and Judi O’Brien by 2. The ladies continued to show great form on Saturday where Rose Sheath scored 39 stableford points to lead the Ladies.
Bruce Byers has struck some form and was winner on Wednesday in A Grade and second on Saturday to Anthony Smith. The last groups wrapped up the prizes on Saturday with Peter Brown winning D Grade with 41 points and Les Hannigan winning C Grade with 40 points. John Keeling made a good showing on Saturday in his new grade. John, you might recall, has had a series of second places in D Grade. Well on Saturday, he was as you might have guessed, running second in C Grade. Les Hannigan made a great par on the last to force John into third place. Another “$15 ball” for John!

I would like to congratulate both Matt and Con on their victory in the Match Play and wish not only them the best in the final of the match play but also Peter and Tony and may the best team on the day win. Both Paul Rodgers and myself gave it our best shot but Matts long drives and Cons superb touch around the green were just too good for us. It was a pleasure playing with these gentlemen. Thanks guys for a great morning, and thanks to my playing partner Paul as well.. Good luck to Tony and Johnny as well in the single match play final..
Playing the 18th today my ball ended up against the northern side of the compound. In the past I would take swing relief (rule24). Today it has GUR lines around it,which is a definite advantage. The GUR continues along the western wall. Question is-has the drop zone become obsolete ?

Those players taking advantage of the GUR in this area and along the western boundary of the compound must use the drop zone. This is clearly pointed out in the ‘local rules’ on the noticeboard near the golf shop. The alternative is to play the ball as it lies.
Thanks for clearing that up Dave. I didn’t know that if a ball came to rest at the base of the north facing fence it could be taken up to the drop zone beside the green. It is not relief,it’s a get out of jail card in my opinion.
Only that part near the tree that is marked. The rest of the fence is an immovable obstruction where you get swing relief only. Pretty hard shot from the drop zone! The problem before we marked it was where did the ditch start? At least now you know when you are in that GUR area.

One often overlooked option you can take if you find yourself up against that fence is rule 28, unplayable lie and replay you last stroke under penalty of stroke and distance. That can be a better bet given the vagaries of that particular green in my opinion
