A beautiful sunny Sunday morning greeted the 28 competitors for the 2016 Jamberoo Mixed Open. The course was in excellent condition and the greens immaculate. The club welcomed visitors from Port Kembla, Bonnie Doon and Glenmore Heritage Golf clubs.
The gross winners of the day with an excellent score of 76 were Juanita and Andrew Robb. The nett winners were Christine and Patrick Paris with a creditable 72.25. The nearest the pin prizes were contested on the 13th hole where Norbert Beringer hit a shot to 824 cm to claim the prize of two top of the range Srixon balls.The ball winners were the pair of Elizabeth Armstrong and Arthur Bosanquet with 74.375 and Marlene Trethowan and Dave Ransom with 75.625.
In their winners’ speech the Robbs mentioned the joy of playing such a beautiful course with its backdrop of mountains, farmland and river. The presentation was followed by a BBQ luncheon where the intimate club rooms promoted fellowship among the participants. A big thank you to the organisers and cooks.
It was agreed a good day was had by all.
