Super Grade Day Brings Out the Best

The mild day on offer and the attraction of larger prizes saw a spectacular day of scoring on Saturday 20th of February.

Andrew Attard was the winner with a great score of 46 points. Bernie McGlinchey was back to his best as he scored 44 points along with Paul Henderson. Pat Paris fired with 43 points along with Alan Jones. Pat’s 2 over par round was enough to win the gross trophy. Interestingly Pat needed a par on the last to shoot his age, unfortunately a bogey resulted instead. Balls went to 40 points highlighting the depth of scoring on the day. The Ladies comp was won by Pat Orgill with a terrific 41 points.

The Wednesday competition was held in grades with the A grade winner being Bruce Byers with 38 points. Dave Ransom took out B grade with 41 points. C Grade winner was William Perry with a grand score of 48 points. D grade winner was Pat travers with 42 points on a countback from Rob Mitchell.

The A Division in the Tuesday Ladies competition was won by Marilyn Wright with 37 points. Lieve Stassen took out B division with 43 points and C Division was won by Marilyn Hodgson with 35 points.

The veterans Monday competition was won by Ewald Klein with 42 points who defeated second place-getter Peter Girdler by 2.

Good luck to our Men’s Pennant teams Sunday

All of our teams have made a remarkable start but will need to fire on all cylinders if they are to progress in their divisions. The B Pennant has been of a great standard this year and our team has done marvellously well to match their opponents in each of their games. A win is called for this Sunday so go for it.

The C Pennant has also managed strong performances at home but need that away victory to apply the pressure to the other teams. Perhaps this weekend?

Both White Horse Cup teams have performed well so far but can’t rest on their laurels. You must keep winning or face elimination. If both teams can maintain their form then they would meet in the semi-finals. Lets hope this can happen.

Good luck.
