This was a very close match with both players on the top of their form and it came down to a few missed opportunties that were not capitalised upon that proved the difference. Congratulations to both players on grand performances throughout the tournament.

Also today the 2015 Fourball matchplay final was contested between Pat Paris & Chris Goodwin and Phil Adams & Col Booth.

This was a very tightly contested final with the match being decided on the 18th hole.

After opening up an early lead of 3 holes Pat and Chris were beset by great play by Phil and Col and on the 17th tee it was all square. Chris, who had been feeling poorly all day due to a chest infection, was able to find something extra and won the 17th hole for his team to take the lead. It was still there for both teams to win but Pat, continuing on with his excellent performance throughout the day, managed to halve the last against his valiant opponents to seal victory 1 up.

Congratulations to Chris and Pat in claiming the 2015 title. Commiserations to Phil and Col who can hold their heads up high on a great performance. Maybe they can emulate their opponents who were beaten finalists in 2014.

PS: Ray Orr has done it again having his third hole in one at the Kiama Golf Club last Sunday. This time Ray scored his ace on the difficult uphill 9th hole where his purely hit 7 iron did the trick. Well done Ray.
