Entries are invited for the Graded Scratch Matchplay Championship to be played in 2 divisions.
In either division matches will be played with the benefit of handicap only in so far as that one stroke will be given for every difference of 2 in handicap up to a maximum of 2 strokes (firstly on the 8th hole and then on the 12th hole). For instance, If player A is off a 2 handicap and player B is off a 7 handicap then Player B has 2 strokes , one on the 8th and one on the 12th, as the difference in handicaps is 5. If player C is off 13 and player D is off 16 then player D receives only one stroke, on the 8th hole.
These matches are ideal for low handicap players who feel they have little chance in handicap matchplay events and are an ideal preparation for those members wishing to represent the club in B and C Pennant teams in 2015. “A” Division is for players with handicaps of 12 or less. “B” division is for players with handicaps of 13 or more.
Players will remain on the same GA handicaps (ie golf link handicap rounded to nearest whole) as they started their first match except if they reduce their handicaps during the course of the competition in which case they shall play off that reduced handicap for the remainder of the competition.
The Championship will be conducted over October – November. Please do not enter if you are unavailable for any reason during this period. Late matches will result in forfeits.
