New Year’s Eve Comp goes off with a bang!

Well as the old year ticked over on New Year’s Eve Jamberoo members were celebrating early, or so it seems if you go by the scores in the Wednesday comp. A DSR of 63 saw the Division 1 players shooting the lights out like a Roman candle with the other division scores not far behind.

Celebrating his recent 63rd birthday Steve Rippon blasted 44 points off his scratch handicap for a gross of 59 off the stick to not only break his age but to thrash it. Jarrod Gehrmann fired a fine 68 off the stick to record 42 points and win the second place prize. Ray Orr, also celebrating his recent 58th birthday, fired an excellent 71 off the stick to record 41 points to win third prize on a countback. Adrian Gehrmann also fired an excellent round of 69 for a nett 37 points.

In division 2 Glyn Godfrey fired 43 points to take out first place on a countback from a multitude of players including Brian O’Hare, who took 2nd place, and Ron Hewson, who took third place. The unlucky Alan Thomas also scored 43 points to only win a ball.

In Division 3 Brian Bennett beat several others with 39 points on a countback, with Phil Gosling taking second and Geoffrey Evans sneaking in third.

Other excellent performances were recorded by Graham Carroll, 42 pts, Anthony Dawson, 41, Scott Hainsworth, 41, John Johnson, 41, Lee Hayward, 40, and tony Panecasio, 40 pts. 7 players scored 39 points and 6 more scored 38 points to win a ball.
