A convocation of eagles spotted on twelfth hole
Eagles were recorded on the same hole in the Saturday 21st December comp by Paul Rogers and Ian Unsworth. Both players will receive a special Xmas present of 6 balls to commemorate their feat.
Some like it hot
Scoring, like the weather has been hot recently, with many members recording that special ‘Christmas round’ (the one that comes only once a year)! Congratulations to Brian O’Hare for his individual 47 points on the 21st of December; to Luke Purdie for his 48 on Boxing Day and to Ian Bradburn for his 45 on the same day. John Keeling also recorded a 47 point round to ensure he won a ham on the 14th of December.
Pennant teams selected
Provisional pennant teams have been selected and the relevant captains will contact players to discuss practice arrangements etc. B Pennants will be led by Adrian Bell this year; C Pennants will be left in the capable hands of Chris Leckey; and Dave Ransom will manage the White Horse Cup team. Good luck to our men’s 2014 pennant teams. Their seasons start on the 2nd of February.
Golf Link Handicap changes
The new slope system will come into play on Thursday 23rd of January. Golf Link will be offline from Monday 20th to Thursday 23rd of January to allow for the installation of the new software required. Players will not be able to access their handicaps in this time.
Once installed players will need to look up their Golf Australia handicap on Golf Link before each comp (just use the club computer in the golf shop) and use it to determine their playing handicap for the course they are playing on for the round. A ready reckoner has been prepared to assist you for the 4 courses played on at Jamberoo (Mens and Ladies Blue and White).
To facilitate the introduction of the new system the ladies Stableford comp on Tuesday 21st and the men’s stableford on Wednesday 22nd will now become team events and players will use their last notified handicap. Please see the notice board for actual competition details.
