TREVOR BELL MEMORIAL SHIELD
The Trevor Bell Memorial Shield is an inter club team competition run by the IVGA (Illawarra Veteran Golfers Association). The competition is run each year from April through November with one spare month allowed for washouts. The seven clubs, comprising the IVGA, field teams of eight players to play each round. The Shield winner is the team with the highest aggregate of the seven rounds best six of eight Stableford scores.
Eligibility:
To represent Jamberoo in the Trevor Bell Shield competition the following criteria must be met:
- Must be a member of Jamberoo Veteran Golfers
- Must be affiliated with the IVGA and NSWVGA (automatic)
- Must have a valid Golf Australia handicap.
Note: The Trevor Bell Memorial Shield is open to both male and female members.
Competition Fees:
Competition fees for each round (usually $20 – $30) are set by the host club and are designed to cover green fees and competition prizes and may also cover light meals and a drink. For each round of the Competition there would normally be prizes for the first four placings and a small ball comp.
Nominations:
A nomination form will be placed on the “Veterans” Notice Board three or four weeks before each round. Any eligible member is free to nominate for a place in the team. Name, Golf Link No and Phone No required.
