News from the Course – May 13

Hole in One today on 13.

A lot of action today at the course with players struggling on the firm, fast greens and tightly mown approaches.

The best score of the day was recorded by Mal Garrett with a highly credible 38 points.

Andrew Ball was the 4 way countback winner with 35 points in A Grade.

Another person who did not struggle was Rod Poidevin who was the winner on a countback in B grade with 36 points. His round included a hole in one on the 13th.

Rod used his 8 iron to great effect on the 13th where his ball landed just short of the flag and went in on the bounce like a rabbit down a hole!

Rod will receive the following to commerorate his great moment.

A bottle of wine, certificate and cap from St Halletts wines, official sponsor of holes-in-ones for GolfNSW, a special trophy with his successful ball mounted, placement on the Jamberoo ‘Hole-in-One’ Honour Board, and 6 balls into his account.

Well played Rod.

Memorial Benches Arriving Soon

You may remember that a ‘Memorial Day’ was held earlier this year to commemorate our lost clubmates who are now teeing it up ‘upstairs’. Part of the concept was for the club to purchase some outdoor benches, similar to that found on the 5th tee.

Those benches have now been ordered and we are awaiting for them to be delivered to the outlet in order for us to pick them up. After their arrival we will purchase some plaques to place on the chairs.

It is planned that one will go on the sixth tee, one on the 12th tee and one on the 17th tee.

The Champagne 9 celebrations today!

Joan Walton, long time carer of Golfie, was invited to share the afternoon – cutting the cake. Thanks to the cooks:- Neen & Tracey.

The winner for today’s ‘Stroke’ competition was Rachael Kennedy. A fantastic round of 55, nett 29.5.

It was great to see John and Del Brand join the team as well as Ben Moore. 🏌️‍♀️
