Members Sharing Friendships

Recently two of our current women members caught up for a Christmas cuppa with one of our Life Members. Can you recognise them? Life member 0007 – Betty, was in fine spirits and loved the catch-up with friends.

Another group of women members enjoyed a morning tea hosted by our Welfare Officer. Plenty of stories and laughs were shared.

The Champagne 9 golfers took the opportunity to farewell our temporary member Elizabeth Taylor who has been visiting her daughter, Rachel, in Jamberoo for 3 months. Liz joked about our English terms for “burglars” which she calls “bandits”, and of course “thongs” which she calls “flip flops”.  We returned the favour by introducing her to “gobblers” and “birdie juice”. We thanked her for sharing her time with us and wished her and her husband, Pat (who was busy playing Saturday bowls), a safe journey home.

This is a perfect example of how our great game of Golf can create connections and friendships across the globe.
