Mens Club Championship set to Commence

This Saturday and Sunday sees the playing of the first and second rounds of the 2022 Club Championships.

Defending champions are Ben McEvoy, Bruce Byers and Rod Hodkinson in their respective grades.

For those who maybe unaware we are playing the championships this year over two weekends utilising Saturday and Sunday. The booking sheets are available on OURGOLF with only a few early spots left available on the Sunday.

We wish all competitors the best of luck and hope all your putts drop into the hole.

Play well, but more importantly, enjoy the experience of playing in our main event.

Monthly Medals

With many medal days washed out earlier in the year and with stroke rounds being played we have an opportunity to catch up on the playing of those medals.

The August Monthly medal will be contested in conjunction in round 1, The July monthly medal in conjunction with round 2 and the June monthly medal in conjunction with round 3. Round 4, being the concluding round of the championships, will stand alone.

  1. Good luck to all…Will the course be played holes 1-18? Or is it still going to be a composite course?

  2. Good luck to all of those contesting the Championship’s. Sorry to say, but I will be missing the event this year. I hope that the course will be open for this special event in our golfing calendar. 🏌

  3. Just a quick question in regards to Championships, our major event of the year.
Will there be any specific Local Rules if no more rain, such as relief from bare patches and preferred lies through the green, or will it be fairways only?
If it’s championships I thought that relief in the rough a little lenient. Understand relief from tractor tyres etc but bare patches around trees etc that’s in the rough seems a bit lenient.
Would it be possible to have screen up and working to see scores as they are entered by competitors so we know that scores have been entered correctly?
I have recently played the course and I personally would like to thank the Green Staff and the directors and I do appreciate their efforts, who have all worked tirelessly, to get the course back to its condition after recent enforced closures.
Once again good luck to all and enjoy your game..

    1. There will be an article tonight at some stage. I hadn’t thought about tyre tracks so I will add that into the conditions of play. Good luck all.
