Daniel aces the 13th today

Congratulations to Daniel Adams who played the perfect shot in today’s competition at the 13th hole.

Hitting a wedge, Daniel’s ball landed to the left and above the hole. Taking backspin the ball spun towards the hole and to Daniel’s delight fell into the cup like a well hit putt.

Apparently Daniel raced up to the hole to confirm the result and after a very load “yahoo” was seen doing a lap of honour around the green!

This was Daniel’s first hole-in-one.

Congratulations and well played.

To commemorate his achievement Daniel will receive a bottle of red win, hole in one cap and marker, and certificate from GolfNSW, complements of their sponsor St Hallet’s wines.

From the club, Daniel will have his name added to the list of Hole-In-One achievers, receive 6 balls, and have the successful ball mounted onto a permanent trophy to keep.

Great work Daniel.

Par Event Scoring

When you play any event you must put your score down for every hole, or a wipe if you don’t score if the event is not a stroke round.

In today’s round many players just put down +, – , or 0 on their own without a score. Put the score and the result down for each hole.

The same applies to stableford rounds, put the score and the points allocated down on the card for each hole.

Routing of the Course

Currently we only have 16 holes in play with the 5th and 9th still not ready for play. This week we have been playing two holes twice, the 1st and 4th, to make up the quantum of 18 holes.

It was suggested today by Paul Rodgers to the starter that it might be better if we replay the 2nd and 3rd holes instead. I think this is a better plan and it is what we will do until the 5th and 9th holes are back in play.

So the new routing is 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 2*, 3*, and finishing on 18.

It has also been difficult to follow scores on score cards with at least three versions of recording the extra holes results being used.

Record your score on 2* next to 5th on the scorecard and your score for 3* on the scorecard next to 9th.

With good weather hopefully we can get back to playing the full course soon.
