LADIES CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013

LADIES CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013
The ladies played their Championships over the first 2 weeks of April. We had three lovely sunny days but the second Thursday featured rain for most of the day. Many ladies did not play so our numbers were down for the rest of the Championship.
Thanks to the greens staff for presentation of the course. Our first round was 2nd April, straight after the Easter holiday, and even though the fairways had not been mown they were in good condition.

LADIES PENNANTS   Womens Golf Illawarra  (WGI)
Jamberoo ladies entered a team in each division, not bad for our small club.
Results as at 8th April.
Grade (4 Teams) – Jamberoo, Kiama, Port Kembla and Wollongong.
Port Kembla lead with 15 points after 2 matches.
Gold  (11 Teams) – Callala, Jamberoo, Nowra, Port Kembla, Russell Vale, Shoalhaven Heads, St.Georges Basin, Sussex Inlet, The Grange, Vincentia and Wollongong.
Vincentia lead with 15 points after 3 rounds, followed closely by Nowra on 14 1/2
As you can see the Gold teams have quite a lot of travelling and the season is not expected to finish till 8th July.
SILVER A (6 Teams) – Jamberoo, Gerringong, Port Kembla, St.Georges Basin, The Grange and Vincentia.
After 3 rounds Jamberoo is on 12 points with Port Kembla, and Vincentia.
I would like to thank our ladies for playing pennants and travelling, sometimes over an hour each way.
Good luck for the rest of the season.
