New Veteran’s Competition
Don’t have enough time or energy to play 18 holes?
As from 1st September, Veteran members will be able to play either 9 or 18 holes competitions on the first and third Monday of the month.
The cost will be $4.00 for the new 9 hole competition and it will be run in conjunction with the 18 hole event. In addition players will be able to compete for the nearest the pins on the front nine.
If there are insufficient players to allocate prizes for the competition on any particular day, the scores will be included in the “Kingsford Nine” which is decided at the end of each week.
Ladies AGM
Just a short reminder that the Ladies AGM will be held after golf on Tuesday 10th of September.
The New Toy
How good does it feel when you save up and finally purchase that little gadget that is going to make the game easier? How bad is it when you misplace the item and can’t find it? Then you find it again – glorious!
Mick Bartlett went through the full gamut of these emotions last Saturday. He was so pleased to finally use his new GPS unit, getting it out at every opportunity to find the exact distance to the hole.
AND THEN on the approach shot to the sixth green, ITS GONE!
A search begins retracing his every step, all to no avail. ITS GONE.
SADNESS!
Then the good news.
ITS FOUND.
Mick had put it in the wrong cart!
After recovering from his embarassment his spirits were so raised that he went on to win C Grade on the day.
Volunteers in Action
One of the great things about our club is the passion of the members. The passion to help out when a job needs to be done.
Two such members are Pam Middlebrook and Judi O’Brien who have repainted and repaired the Ladies and Men’s Rest Rooms.
Thank you ladies for your fantastic efforts.
