Jamberoo Open Ambrose Tee Times and Rules

As members might appreciate the ‘OUR GOLF’ booking sheet only permits us to make bookings of 4 players at 7 minute intervals.

The Ambrose Championship is to be played in 8’s consisting of two teams of 4 players each hitting off at 15 minute intervals.

The dilemma for me was how to inform members of their tee times using the system.

I have used the ‘OUR GOLF’ page to place all players into the event. The true tee times will vary slightly from these and could be up to 10 minutes later. If you press the link below you will get the correct tee time for each group.

There have been two slight changes with Paul Tucker’s group moving to 8.08 and Keith Hales’ group moving to 9.08. Could these two groups confirm the change with the starter?

RULES for The EVENT

The Jamberoo Open Ambrose is a four-person, elimination format Ambrose.

  • All team members tee off each hole
  • Team chooses the shot they are going to use as they proceed to their balls
  • The golfer whose shot is taken is eliminated from participating in the next shot. The others must play their shots from within 30cm of the chosen ball and must be played from the same part of the course: rough, fairway, bunker or penalty area.
  • A player is only eliminated for the one shot following his selected shot
  • This process continues up until the ball is on the putting green, and then all four players have the opportunity to sink the putt. Putts should be taken from within 15cm of the selected ball not nearer the hole.
  • All four players tee off the next hole and the elimination process begins again, until ball is placed on the putting green
  • Each team member’s tee shot must be used at least three (3) times per round and marked clearly on the score card.
  • The eliminated player cannot take a practice shot during the time they are eliminated
  • Handicap is 1/8th of combined handicap. Two teams per tee time.
  • Play ‘ready golf’. Do not lose your relative place in the field.
