Jamberoo 5.5 def Russell Vale 0.5 @ Worrigee

Well done to all for the great result today it was a good team effort, a massive thanks to Peter for his support it was appreciated.

To be kept up to speed on all the other games was inspirational, this was the reflection of the team spirit. I only wish we could have played the Highlands on a dry track, I do believe we could have got them.

So hoping for a victory next week end will put us 2nd just a game short of a finals spot.

Again well done.

B Pennant

B Pennants took on Nowra at Links on another windy Sunday.

Super caddy/manager/motivational coach Ray Orr made his first appearance. In a match that ebbed and flowed 4 birdies to the young gun including the last hole gave Nowra a 1 up win.

In match 2 John Paul started evenly but the strong winds were not favorable to his high ball flight and he went down 3/2.

Scott Hainsworth returned to form with a strong 4/3 win piercing the wind with his shots.

Tp had a back and forth game with neither player gaining the ascendency. A square match a fitting result in the day Jarrod Gerhmann again stood tall with a resounding  6/5 win. Showing his usual strong all round game.

So 2.5 each the final result. This sees us drop out of the finals race. Thanks to the team. A great bunch of blokes who supported each other through the season. Last match next week at Shoalhaven Heads.

Jamberoo 0.5  V Port Kembla 4.5

“Sharks will be hungry for a win next week!  ”

Last week’s rained out game left us all keen to play and at times there, we were looking pretty good to get the upset win.

Playing into a strong southerly today, all of the games were close with all Jamberoo players having the lead during their matches. Port’s “Bermuda triangle” ie. 15th, 16th and 17th got the better of us and most games were decided in this area.

Individual matches were,

Boyd Sylvester squaring his match with a birdie on 18.

Chris Leckey L 4/2

Andrew Ball L 2 down

Tim Young L 3/2

Tom Zimmermann L 2/1

It’s getting to the pointy end of the season and with 1 match left to play, we know a win at home next week will give us a finals birth.

Cowpats Semi –Finalists for 4th year in a row by an arrow head

The Basin Boys and Sussex who had defeated Moss Vale 6/0 in the previous weeks were both in contention for a Semi Final berth until last Sunday,  but a 5/1 win by the Jamberoo Cowpats over the highly fancied and undefeated St George Basin made the trip back home pleasant for the ROO’s making Macquarie Pass seem like a Four Lane Expressway.

Lucius was handed the Tactical and Strategic Coordination of the Legion and from various Hilltop locations ensured the “Wild Thing’s” fireballs were placed to unnerve the opposition.

Inspired by the Fireballs and Maximus’ early brilliance, the Bishop of Jamberoo soon took control with divine putting.

Word soon spread around the Moss Vale course of Arthurious’ eagle chip as well as Julius’ birdie chip from 56 m inspiring the Cowpats but deflating the opposition.

The Opposition had no answer to a well drilled Cowpat Legion who the previous week had crossed the Rubicon River for one purpose, the defeat of Attila the Hun.

  1. Well done boys….Although I didn’t understand a thing in the Cowpats report…Must be my upbringing …..but I did learn English at school not Ancient Greek dialogue….LOL..

    1. Here is a translation matrix needed to read Latin!
The ‘wild thing’ is Matt Tedeschi, the leader of the advanced Brigade of the Legion, he cannot be contained by the opposition; Octavious is Col Booth the general of the legion; Maximus is Chris Goodwin a seasoned veteran of many campaigns; Lucius is Shane Townsend, known for his sharp sword and singing voice; Arthuros 1 is Arthur Bosanquet the ever reliable Tribune who goes out last when the true pressure is on, The Bishop of Jamberoo is Peter Francis the holy leader of the vanguard who goes out first to defeat the oppositions best player in a very polite way. I am Julius, titular head of the legion who is happy to delegate authority to Octavious my adopted son, I am scared of the Ides of March[15th].
To cross the Rubicon was to leave [or approach] the central lands of Rome itself and Attila the Hun is our enemy determined to defeat the cowpat legion.
I hope this short lesson helps.
