Volunteers Achieving Great Things
Have you noticed the beautiful gardens around the course? These are lovingly tended to by some of our dedicated members out of the goodness of their souls. The only reward they receive is the smiles on member’s faces as they regard the handiwork of their fellows.
There are plenty of jobs to be done around the course as well, like snipping the banks of the creeks, helping laying the new ‘geohex’ pathways or just filling divots and holes on the fairways. Whatever skill you bring we can use your help.
If you have the time why not volunteer to help in this important way?

Specials in the Golf Shop
Its that time of year again where you might start thinking of using those ball credits on your account. If you don’t want to exchange your credits for golf balls then you might consider using them to buy items in the shop? Each ball credit is valued at $2.50 so why not use them to buy that new pair of golf shoes, or that new club shirt.
Take advantage of the special in the shop in February!
Good Luck to Our Pennant Teams
All Men’s Pennant teams start their campaigns this Sunday. The B pennant are at Nowra up against Moss Vale, the C Pennant ‘Sharks’ are at home against St George’s Basin, while the Flies travel to Bowral to play Worrigee. The Cowpats play Sussex Inlet at St George’s Basin.

Position Vacant
If you have some spare time and would like to assist the club then why not volunteer as a shop worker. All training will be supplied and an expense allowance will be paid. A few of our volunteer shop workers have had to return to the workforce and can’t spare the time to help out in the shop anymore so some positions are available.
It is a very rewarding position and you will certainly get to know the members of our club, the club employees, both in the office and on the course better and find out about how the club runs.

The Course
The greens are generally in good shape and rolling truly. With the re-introduction of Saturday morning mowing the standard of green presented to members should be quite acceptable.
The green staff are working to eradicate the couch and kikuyu that has infested some sections of a few greens. This involves a course of spraying over several weeks. Although it doesn’t look good at the moment these sections of greens still roll OK so if you need to putt across them then that should not effect their roll too much.
The major problem continues to be the damage done by the Corellas. The ‘Owls’ seem to work on the green they are located on but as soon as you move one then the birds attack again, usually after hours.

Latest Results
How much better can it get? Perfect weather with just a touch of the upcoming Autumn in the air, the course in good condition and holding greens have seen many good scores returned during the week.
The Lady veterans had a great day on Thursday with Rose Sheath winning with 37 points, Marlene Trethowan, obviously recovering from her injuries was second and the ever consistent Sue Paul third.
Best on Saturday was Vince Brynes with a 60 nett in C grade, Arthur Bosanquet played well again to win the A grade medal as did David White in B grade and Bob Crooks in D grade.
Chris Leckey continued his good form with a second win this week on Wednesday in A Grade, Mark Fisher fired the days best score to win B grade, John Brand joined the winner’s circle winning C Grade and Alex Bruce played his last game in D grade winning again with 40 points.
Tuesday Ladies comp winners were Judi O’Brien, Lorraine Cram and Margaret Chaffey.
